LA Knight has been a huge hit with the fans, but despite their calls for WWE to give him a big push, he has yet to receive one.
Many fans thought he’d get it after winning the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder match earlier this month, but Damian Priest won.
LA Knight vs. Sheamus vs. Cameron Grimes vs. Rey Mysterio has been scheduled for this Friday’s FS1 episode of SmackDown, with the winner receiving a future title match with United States Champion Austin Theory, presumably at SummerSlam.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE still has him on the SmackDown roster as a heel despite the fact that he gets cheered.
“LA Knight is really over. It’s weird, they still slot him as a heel, but they know, and everyone knows he’s a babyface. They know he’s the really big flavor of the month thing, so you might as well take advantage of it,” Meltzer stated.
