Kurt Angle recently did a Facebook Q&A. Here are the highlights:
Most amount of days he spent on the road without a day off:
“23 days. That was back in 2004. 16 matches in 16 cities, 5 autograph signings in different cities, and 2 travel days on the road to home.”
Most intense match physically and mentally:
“The one hour iron man match with Brock Lesnar. It was intense… and so was Brock. Not to mention my sister passed away the night before. That match was 2 world class athletes going toe to toe for 60 mins. Intense.”
Survivor Series 1999 debut:
“I had no idea what to do, I just did what I was told. In this business, being a great leader also entails being a great follower at first. I was an excellent follower when I started. I listened extremely well when my career began. And that morphed into me being an excellent leader years later.”
What he told himself when times got tough and he was feeling down:
“It WILL get better, it always does. But you gotta get through the situation that is setting you back right now. It takes a little time. It will eventually pass. And U will be okay!”
