On Sunday morning, Keiji Muto triumphed as The Great Muta in his retirement match for the character in Pro Wrestling NOAH. He defeated AKIRA, Hakushi, and Naomichi Marufuji with the help of AEW stars Darby Allin and Sting.
Sting delivered a scorpion death drop, Allin delivered a coffin drop, and Muta sealed the deal with another shining wizard to Hakushi. Muta attacked Hakushi’s ringside monk after the match, then stabbed him with a grave marker before signing his name in blood.
Earlier in the match, Muta used the item by stabbing Hakushi in the head, cutting him open.
Muto’s alter ego, The Great Muta, will compete in his retirement match against Tetsuya Naito on February 21.
Muto debuted as Muta for the NWA in 1989 before bringing the character to Japan. He had famous matches with many famous people, including Ric Flair. Muta wrestled WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura earlier this month.
