Kamille has returned to the ring after a lengthy and noticeable absence following her departure from the NWA.
Kamille, a regular in the NWA since October 2018, was expected to join WWE and work in NXT. Things changed after she went backstage at the Dynamite event she was attending on January 18th.
It was later reported that the former NWA Women’s Champion was no longer expected to join WWE, and AEW was the most likely landing spot because they would also allow her to pursue her acting career, with Fightful reporting earlier this year that she had indeed signed with AEW.
At previous media scrums, AEW President Tony Khan Khan stated that he thought Kamille was a great free agent and a good fit for the organization. Kamille previously stated on Twitter that she had been signed since February but did not specify with which promotion. AEW has yet to make the signing official.
The former NWA World Women’s Champion returned to the ring for the first time since last November. She did this on June 16th, when she competed for Robles Promotions in Mexico.
