WWE Superstar John Cena is returning to the ring.

WWE has announced that Cena will work the WWE Payback go-home show on September 1st from the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA. On Friday, September 8, Cena will also work the WWE Superstar Spectacular from the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This will be the first WWE live event in Hyderabad, but it will not be broadcast in the US.

On September 8, WWE will broadcast a live SmackDown from Cena’s hometown of Boston, but he will be in India with the rest of the roster.

Cena has not wrestled since April, when he was defeated by then-United States Champion Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39. He then made an unexpected appearance at Money In The Bank in July to support a future WrestleMania event in England. Cena finished the Money In the Bank segment by hitting Grayson Waller with the Attitude Adjustment.

There’s no word yet on whether Cena will wrestle next month or for how long he’ll be back.
