John Cena’s ‘Wipeout’ Canceled By TBS After Declining Ratings

John Cena’s Wipeout on TBS is officially being canceled after its remaining episodes air, according to Deadline.com. The decision comes as part of Warner Bros. Discovery’s content recalibration, as explained by Jason Sarlanis, President of TNT, TBS, TruTV, ID & HLN:

“Wipeout is inherently comedic and a joy to watch. But I think what we’re what we’re looking at is being realistic in terms of the entire environment. We have to recalibrate.”

The cancellation follows a significant drop in viewership. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, the January 26, 2025, episode drew only 211,000 viewers with a 0.04 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This is a steep decline from its debut in 2021, which pulled in 1.06 million viewers with a 0.33 rating in the same demo.

The show’s first season averaged 772,000 viewers, while the current season has dropped to an average of 250,000 viewers. Meltzer also pointed out that AEW Collision, which often competes against WWE programming, operates within a similar range but performs better with younger viewers.

With Wipeout coming to an end, it remains to be seen if Cena will take on new television projects outside of his WWE and Hollywood commitments.
