New TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has once again set his sights on John Cena, reiterating his challenge for a potential dream match.
After capturing the TNA World Championship by defeating Nic Nemeth at TNA Genesis on Sunday, Hendry has embraced the role of a fighting champion. During his recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Hendry first issued the challenge to Cena. He doubled down on his call-out during an interview on SA Live on Wednesday when asked which WWE star he’d like to face.
“For me, it’s going to be John Cena, right?” Hendry stated. “Look, what would be better than inviting John Cena to cross the line into TNA Wrestling and maybe go for a 17th World Championship? I’m ready for the challenge, John.”
Hendry’s comments come amidst the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA, which has already created several cross-promotional moments. Cena, who is currently on his retirement tour, could potentially take Hendry up on the challenge, making it a historic clash between the two promotions.
