House Of Glory returned home to the NYC Arena in Queens, NY, on Friday, July 26th, for its annual show,” High Intensity.”
The stacked card saw significant returns, multiple debuts, and multiple championships changing hands.
Below are the results for the Star-studded card:
Matt Travis Memorial Battle Royal:
Raheem Royal won the Matt Travis Battle Royal when his teammate Jay Armani sacrificed himself, taking out the other final competitor, “Sweet Cheeks” Joey Silver.
Winner: Raheem Royal
HOG Cruiserweight Championship Match: Gringo Loco (c) Vs. Kevin Knight
Gringo Loco made the first defense of his title a successful one by beating Kevin Knight after hitting a massive powerbomb from the turnbuckle to secure the pinfall.
Winner: Gringo Loco – Retains Championship
HOG Tag Team Championship “I Quit” Match: The Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black) (c) Vs. The Cold Blooded Killers (Charles Mason & Nolo Kitano)
The match saw many weapons used and interference from other members of The Cold Blooded Killers.
Midas Black was handcuffed to the ring rope by Charles Mason and had no choice but to quit when his partner, Jay Lyon, was being beaten with chair shots, and Kitano took out his sword, threatening to behead him.
Winner: The Cold Blooded Killers (Charles Mason & Nolo Kitano) – New Champions!!!!
HOG Crown Jewel Championship Match: Carlos Ramirez (c) Vs. Zilla Fatu
Zilla Fatu, son of the late WWE Superstar Umaga, made his debut at HOG a successful one as he defeated Carlos Ramirez to become the new champion.
The win did not come without the help of Idris Jackson, who hit Ramirez in the back of the head with a chair behind the referee’s back. Fatu then hit a big Uso Splash to pick up the pinfall.
Winner: Zilla Fatu – New Champion!!
Singles Match: Megan Bayne Vs. Diamond Virago (w/The Ultra Violette)
In her debut match, “The Megasus,” Megan Bayne was supposed to face the HOG Women’s Champion, The Ultra Violette, for the championship.
Violette said you don’t walk into a company and get a title shot. She said she must earn it and face her best friend, Diamond Virago.
Virago had some moments in the match, but Bayne proved too big and strong, defeating Virago with a Tombstone Piledriver.
Winner: “The Megasus” Megan Bayne
* After the match, Violette was upset with Virago for losing. She beat her up and threw her out of the ring.
Commissioner Soloman came out and declared that the title match between Ultra Violette and Megan Bayne would happen now.
HOG Women’s Championship Match: The Ultra Violette (c) Vs. Megan Bayne
Bayne made quick work of Ultra Violette, who was clearly taken by surprise by the Commissioner’s announcement.
Bayne hit Violette with a Tombstone Piledriver to get the pinfall and become the new champion.
Winner: Megan Bayne – New Champion!!!!
HOG World Championship Match: Mike Santana (c) Vs. Steve Maclin
Santana successfully defended his championship against Steve Maclin. Santana hit a Senton in the corner after throwing Maclin through a table. Santana then hit his Lariat clothesline to pick up the pinfall.
Winner: Mike Santana – Retains Championship!!!!
* After the match, Charles Mason came down with the rest of The Cold-Blooded Killers. Royal gave Mason the contract for a title match of his choosing, which he had won earlier in the Battle Royal.
Mason said he’s going to cash it in whenever he wants. But before physically hurting Santana, he wants to hurt him mentally. He warned Santana that whenever he steps into an HOG ring, he will be lurking around.
Santana responded by calling Mason a bitch to the raw of the crowd.
Main Event – Singles Match: Swerve Strickland (w/Prince Nana) Vs. The Amazing Red
The AEW World Champion, Swerve Strickland, received a huge ovation when he returned to HOG to face the Co-Founder of HOG, Amazing Red.
This was a hard fought battle that saw Red kick out of Swerve’s finishing move, the Swerve Stomp from the top rope.
In the end, Swerve was too much for Red, hitting Red with a kick to the back of the head for a second time in the match to pick up the pinfall.
Winner: AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland
* After the match, Swerve took the mic and said that he had always wanted to main event a HOG event. He also acknowledged Amazing Red for all he has done for Wrestling.
We closed the show with The Amazing Red in the ring and the crowd chanting,” Thank you, Red.”
