With WWE announcing that Dean Ambrose will leave the company when his contract expires this April, that leaves the question of whether he’s made his final appearance.
According to a report today by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Ambrose is scheduled to wrestle at tonight’s live event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Johnson was also told that he’s scheduled for upcoming Raw television events.
Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch reported late Monday night that Ambrose notified WWE management that he’s leaving the company when his contract expires in April. WWE then confirmed the news on Tuesday with the following statement:
Dean Ambrose not renewing WWE contract when it expires in April
Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April.
We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.
Keller was told by WWE sources that Ambrose has been frustrated with the creative direction of his character for a while and reached a “breaking point recently.” According to PWInsider.com, he notified WWE officials of his decision to leave on Monday after being offered a five-year contract worth a little over seven figures per year.
