As the WWE Intercontinental Champion, GUNTHER continues to set new records and make history.
GUNTHER was promoted to the main roster in 2022 after achieving success in NXT and NXT UK. He held the NXT UK Championship for 871 days after winning it at NXT TakeOver: New York in 2019. He eventually lost the title to Ilja Dragunov at NXT TakeOver 36 in 2021.
GUNTHER defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to become the Intercontinental Champion in June 2022. He successfully defended the title against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania 39.
Since then, GUNTHER has successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship against a variety of opponents, including Xavier Woods, Mustafa Ali, Bronson Reed, Tommaso Ciampa, Chad Gable, and others.
He has already broken the Honky Tonk Man’s record of 454 days as the longest-reigning champion in history.
On Monday, GUNTHER surpassed the 500-day mark as champion.
