400 days is a long time.
GUNTHER recently reached another big milestone as the current WWE Intercontinental Champion after surpassing one full calendar year as Intercontinental Champion and being recognized as the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of the 21st century and having the third longest reign in the championship’s history.
“The Ring General,” who captured the WWE Intercontinental Title from Ricochet back in June of 2022, has now held the title for 400 days and from the look of things, he has no plans of slowing down. The Ring General has since successfully defended his title 12 times against top Superstars such as Drew McIntyre, “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus and Matt Riddle and he is rumored to defend his championship against McIntyre at next month’s WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event.
