A year ago, the boxing world witnessed a bout fans have been anxious to see for years. Tyson Fury locked horns with The Bronze Bomber Deontay Wilder in a match that ultimately failed to impress. After 12 rounds at the Staples Center, the match was called a draw, with each boxer claiming that it should have gone his way. It never did, and the boxing world called for a quick rematch that will settle things right. After a long wait, Fury vs. Wilder 2 will take place in early 2020, this time at the MGM Grand Arena in Nevada.
The highly anticipated rematch for the WBC title has been spiced up with the vacant lineal heavyweight and The Ring titles. Both boxers are anxious about the fight that may ultimately see them earn a shot at Anthony Joshua. The English boxer himself can become one of the greatest by defeating one of these two boxers, although that bout is still some way of.
Even though the heavyweight bout is scheduled for 22 February 2020, that hasn’t stopped bookies to already provide odds. Unlike the first time, Tyson Fury is now the bookie’s favourite @ 8/11 while The Bronze Bomber is given odds of 11/10. The draw is somewhere around the 25/1 mark, but after the first bout and that controversial ruling, no one really thinks the match is headed for a draw. Of course, there are a plethora of other markets to bet in including winning rounds and method of victory you can try yourself if betting on the winner isn’t your thing. If you’re not sure where you should bet, you can find the most trustworthy bookmakers in the UK online and take your pick. Don’t skip on the free bets – after all, why should you refuse free money?
Surprised that Fury is the favourite this time around? You shouldn’t be. The Englishman was the better boxer late in the match and many were surprised to see the fight end in a draw. Many boxing experts were adamant that the belt should have gone to Fury while supporters of Wilder stated the contrary. No matter what you think, we have a new heavyweight bout on our hands and it’s tipped to be far more exciting than the first one.
In the meantime, both boxers defeated 2 opponents. Wilder beat challengers Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz, while Fury won against Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin. To this day, neither Fury nor Wilder has a loss in their careers which makes the Nevada bout all the more exciting.
With the lineal, WBC, and The Ring titles on the line, we’re sure that Wilder and Fury want their hands on all. There’s another ultimate prize thrown in the mix – a match against Anthony Joshua. Wilder has been aching for a fight against Joshua for a while now, while Fury has masterfully rejected all possibilities. He’s got Joshua’s vote of confidence for the 22 February bout, though. With these three belts in their hands, though, they’d have to go through the nr. 1 boxer right now.
Anthony Joshua, on the other hand, has a lot on the line when he fights either of these boxers down the line. He can either become the undisputed heavyweight ruler or the ultimate loser that will hand Fury or Wilder all his titles. Before that happens, though, we’re quite excited about the Wilder vs. Fury rematch. Just like bookies, we’re going with Tyson Fury for this one. There’s no question that Wilder is a great boxer, but we’re more inclined about an all-English ultimate heavyweight bout. Are you?
