Former AAA World Cruiserweight Champion Broderick Shepard Passes Away At 32

According to Luchablog, Broderick Shepard, who competed as Australian Suicide and was a former AAA World Cruiserweight Champion, has passed away at the age of 32. There is no word yet on what led to Shepard’s tragic passing, but he had a 16-year professional wrestling career that included a couple of appearances in AEW and GCW.

Shepard is best known for his run in AAA from 2013 through 2020. His run with the promotion included a 211-day reign with the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship from January to August of 2018. He was known for teaming with stars like Angelico and Jack Evans and initially worked under a mask as Australian Suicide. He would lose the mask during a feud with Daga in 2016.

Shepard joined Lucha Underground at the end of its run as Hexagon Black, but only worked the final show before the promotion shut down. He worked mostly on the independent Mexican scene, and his final match was for Desastre Total Ultraviolento in November of last year, losing a 3-Way Match, along with Blade to Soberbia.

On behalf of PWMania.com, we send our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mr. Shepard.
