Eric Bischoff On What The Undertaker And Sting Have in Common

WWE Hall of Famer and former WCW President Eric Bischoff took on an episode of his 83 weeks podcast, where he talked about a number of topics including how “The Icon” Sting reminds him of The Undertaker and what they have in common.

Bischoff said, “He [Sting] reminds me of the Undertaker in many ways. You know, the Undertaker’s character is one that has endured to this day. I think if Undertaker showed up in his gear and was a part of a WWE event, it would rock the world, right? Just like Sting recently in AEW. But I think the other thing that they have in common is loyalty. And whether the audience is acknowledging the loyalty to their respective companies or they’re just voting based on nostalgia, I think the common ground that both Undertaker and Sting have is loyalty to the company they work for.”

On Sting’s loyalty to WCW:

“Sting was loyal to WCW. And he could have made a move any number of times throughout his tenure in WCW, before 1995 or 1996. Before things started going really well, Sting had opportunities to make a move, and he didn’t take. And I think this is maybe the audience’s way of consciously or subconsciously rewarding that loyalty and that commitment that Steve Borden made not only to the character of Sting, but also to the company that he worked for. And I’m grateful for that.”
