Drew McIntyre is looking ahead to what promises to be a major showdown with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, as both stars continue to dominate their respective storylines.
McIntyre, fresh off his return, has been embroiled in a heated feud with Sami Zayn and Jey Uso, recently securing a victory over Zayn at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Meanwhile, Rhodes has been locked in a rivalry with Kevin Owens, successfully defending his championship against Owens in the event’s main event. However, the aftermath saw Owens unleash his frustration, attacking Rhodes with two piledrivers, leaving the champion stretchered out of the arena.
During a recent TikTok livestream, McIntyre shared his thoughts on the inevitable clash with Rhodes, hinting at the emotional and physical stakes:
“I don’t want to give too much away on here. It’s going to be significant when the time comes and he says his peace and I say my peace. I think the world is going to be along for the ride. Feelings will be hurt as well as bodies will be hurt. For now, …I went out and redefined what independent wrestler meant. He ended up forming another company and taking it to the next level…….Cody and I, it’s going to be big when it happens.”
Though they’ve crossed paths several times, their last televised match was earlier this year, in February, during an episode of Raw, where McIntyre emerged victorious. This looming clash, however, promises to be far more intense, with both stars at the top of their game and the stakes higher than ever.
Fans eagerly await the inevitable moment these two titans meet in the ring, as it is sure to be one of WWE’s most anticipated storylines in 2024.
