Former WWE star Donovan Dijak (Dijak) was one of the talents seen backstage at last week’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV event from the UBS Arena on Long Island, New York. Dijak spoke with Forbes shortly following the show on a number of topics including how he wasn’t invited by any star from AEW or NJPW and how he just showed up before saying it was arranged by Mojo Rawley and Steve Kaye.
Dijak said, “Nobody.” “I showed up uninvited (laughs). No, Mojo [Rawley] and Steve [Kaye] both arranged that for me. They have great connections.”
On how AEW President Tony Khan has been made aware of his interest in joining the company:
“Steve was there with me, so he brought me along, brought me in.” “I don’t know if anything needs to be approved by Tony [Khan] specifically or if they just kind of have people going in and out. But I know that Tony has been made aware of my interest, and I know that there’s reciprocal respect if nothing else.”
