Since leaving WWE, Debra Marshall has embarked on a successful career outside of professional wrestling.
Best known for her time in WCW (1995–1998) as Queen Debra and WWE (1998–2002) as simply Debra, she originally entered the industry in 1995, managing her then-husband, Steve “Mongo” McMichael. In WWE, she managed Jeff Jarrett, won the WWF Women’s Championship in 1999, and later became associated with Steve Austin, to whom she was married from 2000 to 2003. She departed WWE in 2002.
While appearing at Monopoly Events’ For The Love of Wrestling, Debra provided an update on her life and career:
“Well, after I left wrestling, I ended up going to University of Alabama, and I received a Bachelor [degree], and then I received a master of science in criminal justice. From the University of Alabama, and now I currently work for the District Attorney’s Office in New Orleans, Louisiana. So it’s been an interesting journey from wrestling to what I do now.”
Debra’s transition from the wrestling ring to the legal field highlights her diverse career path and dedication to public service.
