AAA, IWGP & ROH World Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood recently spoke with Fightful, and the subject of FTR’s April 2020 WWE departures was discussed.
Harwood stated that when FTR requested WWE releases in January 2019, they decided on the spot that they would make the request. They attempted to ask before TV tapings that night, but were unable to do so because current WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and former WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon were both busy.
FTR eventually spoke with Triple H directly. Harwood stated that they couldn’t be upset with McMahon if he didn’t like tag team wrestling because it was his company, but it “sucks for them” that he didn’t.
Harwood stated that he harbors no ill will toward Triple H, McMahon, or the company, and that he is grateful that Triple H took a chance on The Revival in 2015. He expresses gratitude to Triple H and AEW President Tony Khan for what they’ve done for him.
On this week’s AEW Dynamite, Harwood will face Bryan Danielson.
