Damian Priest missed out on being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by appearing in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

As Fightful had previously revealed, he had read for the role of Namor in the film but wasn’t in it. Priest explained what happened during an Insight interview with Chris Van Vliet.

With Vince McMahon still in charge, Priest agreed that the regime was different at the time. McMahon was known for not allowing talent to work on outside projects that WWE was not involved in, and it appears that McMahon prevented Priest from appearing in the movie.

Here are some highlights:

On whether the rumors were true: “It’s a long story, but basically it got taken away from me, but not from Marvel.”

On whether he got a role: “Yeah.”

On getting another chance in Marvel: “It’d be cool, I’m ready. It’s funny because now I’m busier than ever. Look, come what may, I’m good with it. Maybe I do something like that, I do that and go a different route, and I’m not sitting here with you, being a world champion. I won a World Championship at WrestleMania. I don’t know if that happens.”
