A week ago at WWE WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes’ story came to an end.
The WWE WrestleMania 40 night one main event featured The Rock and Roman Reigns vs. Rhodes & Seth Rollins. Although the heels prevailed, Rhodes went on to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Title from Reigns the following night.
During their promo segment on RAW the next night, Rock stated that he needed to take a break and wants to pursue his desire for the WWE Title. But he’ll be coming for Rhodes when he gets back. When that match will take place is still unknown.
The winner of LA Knight vs. AJ Styles will face Rhodes next week on SmackDown, where he will likely make his title defense for the first time since winning it at the Backlash France PLE next month.
According to Dave Meltzer in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, at WrestleMania, Rhodes became the only wrestler in history to hold the WWE, NWA, and ROH World Titles.
