According to PWInsider.com, Bobby Wales, a star in Championship Wrestling of Florida in the 1980s, passed away on December 26th at the age of 62. The report also noted that Wales was working on a show in Jamaica for Easter 2025 at the time of his passing. There is no word yet on how Wales passed away, but updates will be provided once they become available.
Wales was born Robert Smellie in Jamaica in September 1962 and moved to Florida as a child. He entered the business at a young age and was trained by Tyree Pride, whom he teamed with as part of The Carribean Connection. Waler would later team with a young Norman Smiley, having trained Smiley and Duke Droese.
Wales returned to his home country as a promoter and launched Caribbean Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) to give back to his local community.
