In light of CM Punk’s suspension from the AEW, Brian Cage has had some lighthearted fun at the wrestler’s expense.
Due to his involvement in the AEW All Out 2022 backstage brawl, Punk has been suspended from the company since the beginning of September.
Cage referred to the move, which Punk also employs, as the #BetterThanPunkElbowDrop when he posted images of his own version of the diving elbow drop on Twitter.
Because of his involvement in the fight, Punk’s trainer Ace Steel was fired from his position with AEW earlier this week. It is alleged that Steel bit Kenny Omega during the fight.
Steel is also accused of throwing a chair that hit Nick Jackson in the eye. He was reportedly surprised that he was released.
