Bray Wyatt Reportedly Died Of A Heart Attack As A Result Of Covid-19-Related Issues

Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda) died of a heart attack on Thursday.

As PWMania.com previously reported, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H announced Thursday evening that Wyatt died unexpectedly earlier this morning. WWE Legend Mike Rotunda informed Triple H of Wyatt’s tragic death. For those who missed it, Triple H’s announcement can be found by clicking here.

In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reports that Wyatt contracted COVID-19 earlier this year, which exacerbated his heart problems. There was said to be a lot of progress toward Wyatt’s recovery and WWE return, but he died of a heart attack on Thursday at the age of 36.

The update appears to have come from Wyatt’s family, who wanted some details about his death clarified.

As previously stated, Wyatt had been absent from WWE since being dropped from WrestleMania 39 plans in the spring. It was initially reported that Wyatt was suffering from a physical problem and that he and the company were taking precautions before reintroducing him. This Summer, it was reported that Wyatt was “very close” to returning, and earlier this month, it was reported that Wyatt had been recovering from a significant illness, and that he was finally getting “closer” to being medically cleared to compete. The early August report also stated that Wyatt’s illness was both career and life threatening, but that he had made significant progress. Wyatt and WWE officials reportedly collaborated closely on taking extra precautions to ensure his long-term health. According to sources close to Wyatt, he was getting closer to being cleared, so close that some creative ideas for his return were pitched. One source stated that some ideas for a possible September return were discussed, but it was reiterated that the target date meant nothing if Wyatt did not receive clearance from doctors.
