Bill Simmons Reveals Story That Was Cut Out Of The “Mr. McMahon” Docuseries

“Mr. McMahon” docuseries producers Bill Simmons and David Shoemaker appeared on the Bill Simmons podcast to talk about a number of topics, including which deleted story from the docuseries was the best.

Simmons said, “For me, it was the whole Evel Knievel story that we had to take out.”

Shoemaker added, “Oh, god, that was so good.”

Simmons said, “I thought that was so good. I’m gonna try to to see if Chris [Smith] can put that as a deleted scene or something. We had a bunch of stuff from Vince in the 72-76 range that, just for the story, sometimes you have to cut stuff because it’s just better for the way the narrative moves. But you’re like, oh man, I don’t want to lose that. But we lost it.”

Shoemaker said, “That Evel Knievel bit, oh my gosh. It was so great. But there’s a lot of that stuff.”
