Belief That AEW Has Not Turned A Profit In Spite Of Big Events Like All In At Wembley Stadium

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer discussed AEW business in 2023 in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Meltzer mentioned several successful events this year, such as All In at Wembley Stadium, but then noted the following about AEW’s revenue growth from 2022 to 2023:

“In 2023, the company’s revenue grew 64 to 69 percent to $170 million to $175 million based on what we were told by one of the few people who would know best. Others have claimed they were told by people who know that it would not be quite that high, but the increase was still well over 50 percent. But even so, the company is not believed to be profitable.”

AEW President Tony Khan publicly expressed optimism about the company’s future. When promoting the AEW Worlds End PPV event in 2023, Khan stated that “there will likely be a lot of suitors for AEW“ in terms of the brand’s next media rights deal.
