Bad Bunny intended to return to the ring for the lead role in the upcoming film “El Muerto.” However, the Grammy Award-Winning Musician, who has wrestled in WWE a few times, will not be pursuing the project.

El Muerto is a Marvel Universe character who first appeared in the sixth issue of the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man comic series. The character first faced Spider-Man in a charity wrestling match, nearly unmasking Spider-Man before being stung with a paralyzing poison by Spider-Man. They later collaborated to defeat Dorado.

He was asked about the project during an interview with Vanity Fair. This is where his publicist stated that he is no longer attached to the project, which is no longer in the works after Sony pulled the film from its planned release schedule in June.

According to the article, there was an awkward silence before he said the situation was “delicate.” According to his publicist, “Obviously, it’s out.”

The sixth standalone film in the Sony Spider-Man Universe was set to be released on January 12th, 2024. The release date of the film is unknown.
