Backstage Update On Mercedes Moné’s Future

As previously reported by PWMania.com, former WWE star Mercedes Moné’s talks and working plan with AEW has come to a screeching halt.

Fightful Select reports that this meant Moné and AEW were very far apart on terms, but it was not mentioned exactly what they were very far apart on, whether if it was on dates, schedule, financial terms or booking, although just because talks between the two sides have come to a stop it doesn’t mean the door is officially closed for Moné to work for AEW in the future.

It was also noted on the report that in regards to NJPW/STARDOM Moné is not under contract with either of the Japanese promotions despite having worked for both promotions prior to getting injured and that included her becoming the second-ever IWGP Women’s Champion. Rocky Romero did mention last November that he was hopeful Moné would make an appearance for NJPW again.

When it comes to WWE, they have mentioned on numerous occasions that they are interested in bringing Moné back in the company and Fightful Select even confirms that nothing has changed on that front and that WWE is still interested. There have been rumors circulating online that WWE is already coming up with creative plans for Moné, but that is completely untrue.
