Jay White’s future is uncertain after he was defeated by Hikuleo in a “Loser leaves Japan” match on Saturday morning at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka.
Next Saturday’s Battle in the Valley pay-per-view in San Jose, California, will feature White vs. Eddie Kingston from AEW. As PWMania.com previously reported, White is said to be leaving the promotion and has interest from AEW and WWE.
WWE reportedly felt confident in January that they could sign him, but that seems far from certain now, according to Fightful Select. Because his contract wasn’t up until before the Royal Rumble and because there aren’t many details available, but “talent in New Japan Pro Wrestling are of the belief his contract with the company is up “sometime between NJPW Battle in the Valley and WrestleMania.”
White has been of interest to WWE, according to sources, but the possibility of him joining the company is being kept very quiet. He has also established successful connections in AEW and Impact Wrestling.
