The AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event, which takes place on Sunday, June 30, from UBS Arena at Belmont Park in New York, will feature a noteworthy match for NJPW’s top champion, Jon Moxley.
The event was originally scheduled to take place at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, but this was canceled. All Elite Wrestling is still scheduled to hold its annual Dynamite event at the venue. It is unclear when the show will take place.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that there has been talk of Moxley defending his IWGP Heavyweight Title against Tetsuya Naito at the show. According to Meltzer, “I think there was some talk of Naito at Forbidden Door.”
Moxley will defend the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against EVIL at NJPW Dominion. There is also speculation that he may defend his title against AEW’s Konosuke Takeshita in the near future.
