World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER appeared at WWE Bad Blood for a promo to promote his upcoming Crown Jewel match against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on November 2nd. This led to a confrontation between GUNTHER and Goldberg.
GUNTHER admitted to lying about Goldberg, who was sitting ringside with his family, being his favorite wrestler a few weeks ago on Raw while speaking with Bret Hart. He wished Goldberg was a better father than a professional wrestler. Goldberg jumped the barricade before being restrained.
This led fans to believe WWE was planning a match between the two. According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Goldberg vs. GUNTHER will not take place at Survivor Series or WrestleMania.
On a recent Backstage Pass Q&A, fans were asked if they thought Goldberg would show up and interfere in GUNTHER’s Crown Jewel match. While this was not confirmed, it was stated that WWE has future plans for Goldberg.
WrestleVotes responded, “Yes, I don’t know for sure, but there are plans for Goldberg in the future, yes.”
WWE has plenty of open spots for the match, including Saturday Night’s Main Event, the Royal Rumble, and the February Saudi Arabia event.
