CM Punk appeared on WWE NXT Deadline on Saturday night, as previously teased on social media, claiming that he “missed his flight” and happened to be in town for the show, purely kayfabe.

In his SmackDown promo on Friday, he stated that he would call NXT Head of Creative Shawn Michaels this weekend to discuss possibly signing with NXT while weighing his options for which brand he will choose, which he will reveal on Monday’s RAW.

During his appearance, he interrupted Michaels, for which Punk apologized and asked if he was about to say “suck it.” Punk asked Michaels if he could say that on television, and Michaels laughed. Michaels stated that he had no idea. Punk teased signing with NXT before taking a selfie with Michaels.

According to Haus of Wrestling, Michaels is permitted to say “Suck it” on WWE TV. However, it didn’t fit the situation because screaming “suck it” is usually used to end a DX segment, which was a problem because they were just getting started.

Punk spent the majority of the day at the venue, where he was described as “great around everyone,” and his interactions with Triple H were also “legit” very good.

Punk’s friends and family continue to “alk about how happy he is and that he is just looking to keep riding the wave he is on.”

Despite the tease, Punk’s NXT appearance caught many people off guard backstage.
