During this past Wednesday night’s post-AEW Dynasty episode of Dynamite, Chris Jericho delivered a dramatic “TV Time with The Learning Tree” segment alongside Big Bill and Bryan Keith. Visibly emotional and frustrated, Jericho addressed his recent ROH World Championship loss to Bandido at Dynasty 2025, while criticizing Bill and Keith for not being there when he needed them most. The segment ended with Jericho announcing that he would be stepping away from AEW, stating that it was best to “step away” until things change.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Jericho’s break from AEW programming coincides with Fozzy, his rock band, kicking off a month-long tour beginning Thursday, April 17th. The tour wraps up on Monday, May 12th, and only one Wednesday date — April 30th — appears on the band’s schedule. While no exact return date has been confirmed, it’s believed that Jericho will remain off AEW television until the tour concludes.
The report further notes that Jericho’s time in Ring of Honor will officially come to an end following his return to AEW, marking a shift away from ROH programming after his championship loss. ROH reportedly had long-term plans for Bandido to lead the promotion as its top champion, but his path was delayed by injuries — including one sustained at Final Battle. Despite the hurdles, both AEW and ROH remained committed to eventually placing the title on Bandido.
Jericho’s exit from ROH and temporary AEW hiatus marks a pivotal moment for both his character and the direction of ROH under Bandido’s leadership.
