In recent weeks, reports have fueled speculation about a new weekly AEW show on the way.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast reported earlier this month that AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery are close to reaching an agreement to add a third AEW show, similar to Rampage, indicating a one-hour series.
He later hinted on Twitter that the show might air on Saturdays at 6:05 p.m. WCW Saturday Night aired on TBS on the same night and time slot.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported in the most recent issue that the show could debut in July. AEW recently canceled a Rampage event scheduled for Friday, July 14, and replaced it with a “TV event” from Regina, Saskatchewan on Saturday, July 8.
Meltzer wrote, “The schedule in June hasn’t been announced yet other than the Canadian shows so we don’t know if this (7/14 in Regina, Saskatchewan) is the first Saturday taping or the Saturday show will begin before this date. But the Saturday show is right now planned and unless something major changes it will be debuting at least by July if not earlier.”
All Elite Wrestling recently applied to the United States Patent and Trademark Office to trademark “AEW Collision” for entertainment services, which could be the name of the new show.
