AEW star AR Fox recently appeared on Konnan’s “Keepin’ It 100” podcast for an interview covering all things pro wrestling. During the discussion, Fox was asked about his reaction to being offered his AEW contract during a segment on TV.

“It just took me off guard. I mean, like, I’m super humble, but like, also, in a way, I almost had that gut feeling only because right before we were about to do it, Sonjay called Lexy back over real quick and whispered something in her ear and my gut just sank. I just been doing it for so long that I thought it was done and passed, me really getting the shot. I was just kind of happy to be there. But yeah, it was crazy. I don’t know. I’m kind of still speechless about it.”

On how many people he has trained who are now on the AEW roster:

“I’ve helped out a lot of people, but I’m not gonna name people I just helped, but that’s probably like a dozen. But people that I’ve trained mainly, like Alan Angels and Danny J and I was one of the first schools that Jade went to, but then she finished up with the Nightmare Factory. Shawn Dean. That might be that’s on the main show. I had six people I’ve trained at Dark just this past weekend, but there’s probably been about 20 people I’ve trained at Dark.”

On training Austin Theory:

“We talk all the time and it’s just mind blowing. He’s happy to be there. It’s crazy. He got me front row tickets to his Mania match against Pat McAfee and he ended up getting a stunner by Stone Cold. We stood outside one arena where WrestleMania was being held one year and took a picture, and like five years later, he was on of the big billboards on that same arena. I’m just too proud. It’s just crazy. We still talk a lot and it’s always exciting when we talk. I’m kind of amazed because I knew he would do good, but he is doing really good. Main events, long main events where he’s in control of top guys and beating them up. I’m just like, you know, that’s pretty crazy if you think about it, and he’s closing segments a lot. Like, this is crazy.”
