Alex Hammerstone Felt TNA Lost Faith In Him Before Exit

Former TNA Wrestling star Alex Hammerstone spoke with Zach Heydorn of Sports Illustrated about several topics, including his departure from the company.

Hammerstone said, “At a certain point, perception becomes reality. I felt that the company stopped caring about me, and I wondered if I needed to approach things differently. Perhaps they were looking for something from me that I wasn’t providing. However, that conversation never took place. I would have appreciated a discussion where they could say, ‘Hey, creatively, this is what we want to do, so we need to see more of this from you.’ Instead, I was left wondering about my creative direction. I often saw that they seemed to have a clear plan for other wrestlers, so I questioned why there wasn’t clarity for me.”

On his match with Josh Alexander not being included in the voting for the 2024 End of Year awards:

“I don’t care if I lose the poll; just put me on the poll. It reached a point where I felt a lack of faith from the company. I don’t know why I felt that way, and I’m not blaming anyone except myself. But when you start perceiving things like that, it becomes your reality. If the company doesn’t have faith in me, why should I have faith in myself if they don’t have a direction for me? This doesn’t mean I ever gave up; I just felt mentally exhausted.”
