An absent star is set to return to WWE television in just a few days.
Before his return, AJ Styles worked live event matches on Saturday night in Columbus, GA, and Sunday in Huntsville, AL. He put over Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the main event.
Styles has been away from television since putting over Rhodes at the Clash at the Castle event in June. Following that, Styles worked a pro wrestling NOAH event as well as shows on WWE’s Japan and Europe tours in July and August, respectively.
In early August, it was reported Styles was initially planned for an early August episode of SmackDown. However, plans changed when it was revealed that WWE intended to bring him back to television ahead of the WWE Bash in Berlin.
WWE has confirmed Styles will make his TV return this Friday on SmackDown.
