A number of AEW talents have been suffering injuries recently, and they have been forced to stay on the sidelines to tend to their injuries and get healthy while missing a significant amount of in-ring action.
Anthony Henry of The Workhorsemen took to his official Twitter (X) account and revealed that his tag team partner, JD Drake, is currently suffering from a torn ligament, which he received from a match in May on Collision. Henry, who was dealing with his injury earlier this year, also noted that 2024 was not good to them. In a separate tweet, Henry revealed that Drake was originally supposed to be signed alongside him during his brief stint in WWE in 2021.
Henry wrote, “For those wondering…the #workhorsemen will be back soon enough. Our first match back on Collision, @RealDrake, unfortunately tore a ligament in his foot. 2024 hasn’t been kind to us.”
“Something not many know: @RealJDDrake was supposed to be signed, alongside myself, for WWE. Obviously, that didn’t happen. I often wonder what would have happened had that happened. I think we still would have ended up where we are, but the journey would have been different.”
