Chuck Taylor provided an explanation for why he was unable to save his friend Orange Cassidy during this week’s AEW Dynamite episode, and that is due to an urgent dental procedure.
Cassidy defended his AEW International Championship against Jeff Jarrett on the show. The title had been ‘leveled up’ as a result of the network’s desire for a Shazam: Fury of the Gods movie tie-in. In an effort to assist Jarrett in winning the championship, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt all got involved at the conclusion of the contest.
Trent Baretta came out to assist, which caused everyone at ringside to be sent to the back. After the Orange punch, Cassidy secured the victory.
Taylor explained on Twitter that the procedure prevented him from standing by Cassidy during the show.
“Couldn’t help Orange because I had emergency dental surgery on my dumb skull,” he wrote. “I hope Greg got me a ticket for Shazam Fury Of The Gods.”
Taylor’s most recent match aired on the March 8th episode of AEW Dark: Elevation.
