AEW Rampage Review – March 31, 2023
Sammy Guevara vs. Konosuke Takeshita
Match starts off with a lock up then Sammy Guevara delivers a dropkick and kips up. We see Jack Perry & Darby Allin watching on as Konosuke Takeshita levels Guevara and mocks him. Takeshita looks for a vertical suplex but Guevara escapes. Guevara then drapes Takeshita across the top rope and delivers a senton.
Takeshita fires back with a big boot that sends Guevara to the outside, then goes flying and levels him. They get back in the ring before they ascend to the top rope. Takeshita hangs off the top by his knees after Guevara pushes him off the top. Guevara then delivers a running knee as we go to a break.
After the break Takeshita delivers a Brainbuster. He follows it up with a lariat, but Guevara hits a back elbow. He follows it up with a standing Spanish Fly and ascends to the top, then looks for a 450 Splash. Takeshita ducks out of the way and delivers a Blue Thunder Bomb, then goes for a pin but Guevara kicks out.
They ascend to the top rope before Takeshita delivers a German release suplex and a sliding lariat. Tay Melo distracts Takeshita allowing Guevara to deliver the GTH for the win.
Winner: Sammy Guevara
We then head to the latest edition of QTV.
Tag Team Match
Trios Champions House Of Black (Malakai Black & Brody King) vs. Best Friends (Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor)
Malakai Black & Trent Beretta lock up to kick this match off then Beretta delivers the double knees, but Black fires back with a kick. Chuck Taylor tags in and fires off several right hands, but Black fires back with a series of kicks and knees. He follows it up with a few stomps, then delivers a few right hands. Brody King tags in and Taylor catches him with a boot. King fires back with a clothesline.
After the break Beretta delivers a suplex to Black. He then delivers a tornado DDT to King that sends him to the outside, then goes flying and levels him. He gets back in the ring with Black and delivers a dropkick off the top rope, then tags in Taylor.
Best Friends hug, but King ruins the fun and tosses Taylor out of the ring. He then sets his sights on Beretta, then grabs a chair and looks to hit him. Taylor grabs the chair out of his hand before King powerbombs him through the table & the ref calls for the bell.
Winners By DQ: Best Friends
After the match Beretta hits King with the chair but Black kicks the chair out of Beretta’s hand. Kings Of The Black Throne toss Taylor back in the ring and look to attack him. International Champion Orange Cassidy’s music hits and he looks to make the save, but Buddy Matthews appears and blindsides him. King then delivers Dante’s Inferno to Taylor.
Taya Valkyrie vs. Marina Shafir
Match begins with a lock up we see TBS Champion Jade Cargill,Mark Sterling, a process server & Leila Grey appear at ringside to watch on as Valkyrie delivers a knee. She follows it up with a pair of kicks before she hits Road To Valhalla for the win.
Winner: Taya Valkyrie
After the match Sterling then grabs a mic and has the process server hand Valkyrie papers stating they intend to sue her. Valkyrie hits her with Road To Valhalla, and Cargill charges at her. Sterling & Grey hold her back.
Juice Robinson vs. Action Andretti
Action Andretti wastes no time as he rolls up Juice Robinson but Robinson kicks out. Andretti then delivers a chop and an arm drag off the top rope then charges at him. Robinson catches him with a back elbow and a chop before Andretti executes a hurricanrana that takes us to a break.
After the break Robinson delivers a knee to Andretti. He follows it up with a gutbuster and a knee to Andretti’s midsection. He whips Andretti into the corner, then delivers another knee to his midsection. Andretti fires back with a right hand and a back elbow, then hits an enziguri and sends Robinson to the outside.
He hits a tope suicida and lands on the apron, then delivers a moonsault off the ropes and tosses Robinson in the ring. He goes flying and levels him then hits him with a Pendulum DDT. Robinson delivers a spinning heel kick and The Juice is Loose for the win.
Winner: Juice Robinson
After the match Robinson sets Andretti up for Ricky Starks’ finisher and mocks him with his pose but Starks’ music hits and he chases Robinson to the back.
