AEW Dynamite Results – November 27, 2019
We’ve got a marching band on the ramp at the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, IL as we start this week’s AEW Dynamite. Soul Train Jones is in the ring with presents, people in big animal costumes and he’s to introduce the greatest of all time, Chris Jericho!
Jericho comes down to the ring with a little bit of the bubbly. Jim Ross, and Excalibur are filling us in that Jericho wants a big thank you from the fans tonight. The crowd obliges him by chanting Thank you and he tells people to sit down and shut up. He is getting a thank you from AEW executives and TNT executives, and for the crowd, SOME of them will get a 50 cents off coupon for a Jericho t-shirt.
Jericho now has his own drink that you can order from Littlebitofthebubbly.com He follows this plug by bringing down the Inner Circle.
Now is the time for the Inner Circle to give their thank you gifts.
Sammy Guevara gives a cardboard standee of him and Jericho hugging.
Proud and Powerful give a gift basket
Jake Hager gives…um….well, he’s in the back and brings out a goat. Her name is Chris Jeri-goat.
Jericho asks what is in the big box. They lift the box and it’s Jericho’s dad Ted Irvine in a Rangers jersey.
Chicago not a big fan of the Rangers, and Irvine heels the Blackhawks and hands out Rangers jerseys.
Jericho brings in the announcer, messes with him a bit and then has him read the Thank You he received from TNT and AEW. Jericho doesn’t think the announcer read it well enough and the Inner Circle starts to beat him down. From the outside comes three members of the marching band to help and it’s SCU! Soul Train Jones takes the hit and rolls out of the ring, and SCU holds the ring as the Inner Circle backs up the ramp.
We get a rundown of the matches coming up tonight.
Tony Schiavone is off tonight.
Marco Martinez will be with us to take his place for the first match.
Dasha will be our ring announcer and she lets us know the Best Friends are on their way to the ring with Orange Cassidy. They don’t make it to the ring as the Lucha Brothers attack them on the way to the ring. After a slight brawl, Orange Cassidy leaps onto the Bros and we’re off to start the match,
Lucha Brothers vs Best Friends.
All four are in the ring, and the Friends are in charge, clotheslines to each Brother in the corner, getting in the hug, before a two count on Fenix by Trent. As they get to their feet, Trent is kicked in the back by Pentagon as he goes to the ropes and Fenix chases off Chuck. The Bros double team Trent. Fenix actually grabs the ref, turns him around so he can’t see what Pentagon does. The ref is released, Pentagon goes back to the corner to tag in, and the hit a cosadora for a two count on Trent.
Commercial time letting us know about cell phones, Jaguars, and snacks. I need some snacks, but the action is too fast and furious in the small screen and the Bros keep beating down Trent.
We’re back from commercial in time for Fenix to a drop kick on Trent and a step up kick onto Chuck, knocking him off the apron. Pentagon is tagged in and after Fenix gets in a few more shots, he holds Trent so that Pentagon can leap off the top for a kick to the Perinea. Or, the taint. Whichever works best for you. It gets a two count.
Pentagon takes too long to follow up and Trent tags out, Chuck hits the traditions clotheslines on each of the Bros, and hits a sliced bread on Fenix. He is able to get Pentagon with a roll up to a single leg crab and Fenix kicks him in the face. They start to work him over but Chuck is able to reverse in the corner, knocking both Bros to the outside. Check is able to hit a tope on both of them.
Trent tries to follow up but instead gets a kick from Fenix, a Destroyer from Pentagon and takes a pin for a two count. Orange Cassidy in a turkey costume distracts Pentagon for a two count by Trent, As he escapes, Pentagon nails Trent with a kick and while the match goes on, Pentagon stares down Cassidy, but Chuck attacks him first.
In the ring, Trent is able to reverse a leap by Fenix and hit a backward pile driver for the three count.
Your winner: The Best Friends.
This is followed by the rankings of the women.
Coming to the ring next is Bea Priestly and Emi Sakura with Emi back in the Freddy Mercury gear. Their opponents are Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida
Bea Priestly and Emi Sakura vs. Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida
Bea and Emi isolate Kris and start beating her down. Kris is able to escape and hits a great spinning backflip from the apron to Bea on the floor. Kris hits Emi with a shotgun dropkick and tag in Shida. Bea and Emi are outside the ring and Shida sets up a chair to use for a running leap, but Emi sits down in the chair to stop her. They use the advantage for Bea to start beating on Shida outside the ring.
The match will continue after this commercial break as Shida takes abuse from Bea and Emi who tag in and out quickly.
We come back to Bea nailing Shida with a kick, followed by a two count. Bea tags in and puts Shida in a stretch while using her mike stand. Bea is tagged in as the ref takes away the stand. Bea works over Shida in the corner. As Shida is whipped into the corner, she reverses and puts Bea on the second rope in the corner. Bea comes in to attack and Shida is able to suplex her into Bea’s head. An OK idea, but not as smooth as it should have been.
Now, Shida struggles to get to her corner, but is cut off by Bea. They trade blows and kicks, until Bea hits a German Suplex. When Bea gets ready for her next move, Shida nails her in the head with a knee and tags in Kris
Kris clotheslines her way into the ring after Emi is tagged in. Kris is able to bridge out of a clothesline, and after a few more strikes, Kris hits an Oklahoma roll for a two count. Kris went for a body slam but Emi reverses into a face buster. Shida tries to get in and as the ref is holding her back, Emi and Bea double team Kris, ending with a backbreaking and Emi gets a two count on Kris
Emi tries for a moonsault, but Kris rolls out of the way and takes over. Shida runs in for a knee strike, and Kris hits a kick to the head. Bea comes in and gets a Falcon Arrow from Shida, Chris has Emi up for an electric chair and instead hits a face buster, followed by a scissor kick and a two count.
Kris puts Emi through a Michinoku Driver for a two count, broke up by Bea. Kris tries a comeback but Emi hits her in the back with the mike stand. Emi is then able to get the maestro for the three count.
Your Winners: Bea Priestly and Emi Sakura.
Jon Moxley is in the back to give a promo about how violent he is and someone needs to step up and be a hero by fighting him.
Commercials end his promo and let us know there is MMA on TNT.
When we come back, Cody rising from the floor and is on his way to the ring with a lot of pyro to help him.
His opponent already in the ring, which is ALWAYS a good sign, is Matt Knicks, which is a clever pun, I must admit.
Cody vs. Matt Knicks
They tie up and as they hook up a few times, they explain that Cody is still ranked even though he can’t go for the championship again. Cody hits a couple of moves and then tosses his weight belt to the crowd and locks in the figure four for a quick tap out for Matt.
Winner: Cody
Cody has the mike and calls out MJF to fight right here, right now. A masked man comes from under the ring, bulls off his mask and it’s The Blade, who attacks Cody, followed by the Butcher who hits him with a standing suplex. A woman, the Bunny, comes into the ring and we’ve got a new team as we go to commercial. They are all dressed in black leather and the Bunny has a mask covering part of her face. Is this the Batman tie in? Is it a new heel team? What is going on other than Cody getting laid out and taken to the back?
As we come back The Bastard Pac is on his way to the ring. He is in the ring for a while, glaring at the back before Kenny Omega comes out. Kenny gets a huge pop as the announcers go over his loss to Pac.
Pac vs Kenny Omega
They tie up and Pac is able to show dominance the rope break. Kenny hits a shoulder tackle, and they run the ropes until Kenny hits a kick to Pac’s knee. They run again and Omega is able to catch Pac with a snap dragon suplex. Kenny then hits a buckle bomb, a spine buster and gets a two count on Pac. Pac goes to the outside and it’s Terminator time from Kenny.
He tosses Pac back in the ring and is showing that he may have hurt his back on the dive. When Kenny tries to get into the ring, Pac kicks him to the floor. Pac slides out of the ring and tosses Kenny in. They trade blows in the middle of the ring until Omega gets another snap dragon suplex on Pac. They fight on the apron and Kenny tries a suplex onto the floor but Pac holds onto the rope, blocking it. They battle with Kenny being dropped to the floor, and Pac hits a moonsault from the top rope on him.
Commercials now let us know about a drug that can help you with your addiction, which would be ironic if not just damn sad. Pac continues to dominate in the small screen.
When we come back, Omega fights to his feet and they trade blows. It ends when Omega is staggered, but Omega is able to nail Pac wth a brutal kick. Omega follows up with the Polish Hammer and a two count. Omega then hits a fisherman’s buster and Pac kicks out at two from the pin. They battle back and forth until Pac hits a brutal clothesline.
Omegas struggles to get up and Pac helps him and puts him up on the top turnbuckle. Pac hits an avalanche falcon arrow on Omega for a two count. Pac goes up to the top for a Black arrow but Omega rolls out of the way. Omega nails a V Trigger and tries to follow up with a one winged angel, but Pac escapes. Omega rolls through for a crucifix, but Pac is able to get his shoulders up. Omega follows up with another crucifix and is able to get the three count.
Your winner: Kenny Omega.
More to come as we get a recap of last week’s battle royal. Or royale.
MJF comes to the ring with Wardlow and we hear his promo from earlier in the day. The ring they are fighting for costs $45,000. This is followed by Adam Page who comes to the ring as we see what Page said earlier today.
MJF vs Adam Page.
MJF offers a handshake and Page attacks instead. MJF rolls out of the ring and Wardlow stands in front of him to stop Page from a Tope. Page rolls out of the ring and starts beating down MJF as we go to commercial.
When we come back, MJF is in control, but it doesn’t last long as Page takes over, knocking MJF out of the ring, followed by a tope through the rope sand then and moonsault onto MJF. Page tosses MJF into the ring and MJF grabs the ref to block the buckshot lariat. They battle until MJF gets an eye poke on Page. Page hits a clothesline and gets a tow count before MJF kicks out.
Page is thrown onto the apron, and MJF gets in a kick and tries to hit a heat seeker, but Page blocks it and hits the buckshot lariat. He covers MJF for the pin, but MJF’s foot is placed on the ropes by Wardlow breaking the count at two. As MJF distracts the ref, Page starts jacking jaws with Wardlow, who punches Page in the face when Page leans out to get in a good discussion point. MJF hits Page with the worst Crossroads I have seen for the three count.
Your winner: MJF
Now, the ring presentation by DDP is right after Page rolls out few the ring. DDP is loved by the crowd as he says he is here to present the ring to MJF. DDP is using MJF’s full name, and if my mom is any indication, someone using your full name means you are in trouble. DDP says he is disappointed, but he will congratulate MJF anyway. MJF takes the ring disrespectfully, and they start to face off, but Wardlow intervenes. DDP says he will look pretty stupid when a 63 year old man kicks his ass all over Chicago.
And it’s on. They fight until refs and security come from the back to break it up and we go to commercial. Next is the main event, but for now, 5g is fast and YOU need to sign up for it through Jack Daniels. Or something. I’m not paying much attention as I try to get caught up.
During the commercial Dustin comes to the ring with Jenn Decker. Dustin is upset with Jake Hager but the Inner Circle jump Dustin before he can talk much longer. The Young Bucks come in for the save, and after a battle, Sammy gets the Three Way Super Kick Party. And he gets set up for Shattered Dreams.
This fades to a video package for The Dark Order, a recruitment ceremony, and their new website. A good way to make people know more about the cult aspect of the Dark Order.
Commercials now tell us about cars, insurance and chips. So…we’re hungry drivers who need to make sure we don’t crash those cars.
We come back to SCU on their way to the ring, but Seconds will not be allowed at ringside tonight. Daniels and Kaz go to the back and Sky comes to the ring. Jericho is next to the ring on his own.
Scorpio Sky vs. Chris Jericho.
They tie up and Jericho tosses Sky to the ropes. Jericho works to slow things down and when they tie up again, they run the ropes and Jericho hits a shoulder tackle. They run the ropes again, and Sky hits a drop kick and clothesline putting Jericho out of the ring. Sky went for a flip, but instead kicks Jericho outside the ring. They return to the ring and Sky comes into the ring with a sunset flip and a two count.
Sky is able to hit a few moves, but Jericho is able to turn the tide with a leap from the turnbuckle into a kick, knocking Sky to the floor. And with 12 minutes left in the show, it’s commercial time, and Jericho dominates during the commercial on the smaller screen.
Jericho is chopping Sky and tossing him around the ring until Sky hits a hanging neck breaker to get control. Sky takes over with a modified Thesz press and drop kicks. Jericho blocks a couple of moves until Sky hits an Ace Cutter for a two count. Jericho kicks out and recovers somewhat but Sky is still dominating. Sky attempted a drop kick from the second turnbuckle, but Jericho steps back and then locks Sky into the Lion Tamer. Sky gets to the ropes for a break and Jericho waits until 4 to break.
Jericho mouths off to the ref, allowing Sky to recover and hit a stunner. Sky then locks on a dragon sleeper. Jake Hager runs to the ring, but Sky intercept him with a kick, allowing Jericho to roll Sky up from behind for a two count. Sky gets up for them to hit double clotheslines on each other.
Hager gets up on the apron to shout at the ref, and SCU come down to beat him down. The ref goes outside the ring to restore order, while in the ring, Jericho grab the belt, and waits to hit Sky with it. Sky dodges the attack and hits the TKO for a two count and Jericho kicks out. Sky spends way too much time being shocked he didn’t get the three count, and Jericho is able to get to his knees.
They trade blows until Sky hits a Frankensteiner in the corner and follows up with an Enziguri and a two count. Jericho is able to get his shoulder up. Jericho is able to counter Sky’s move off the ropes by getting his knees up and he is able to cover Sky for a two count. Jericho waits for Sky to get up and Sky is able to get up and grab Jericho for a backslide. Jericho escapes at two, and grabs Sky who was trying a leaping kick. Jericho locks Sky in the Lion Tamer and Sky has to tap out.
Your winner and still champion, Chris Jericho.
Jericho starts to get out of the ring, but comes back in and locks Sky in the Lion Tamer again as Mox’s music hits. Mox starts to come down the arena steps and Jericho lets go to the Lion Tamer and they glare at each other as we are thanked for watching the show.
That’s our show!
