Buddy Matthews has followed his House of Black stablemate Brody King in filing for a new trademark, signaling potential developments for the faction. On January 17, 2025, Matthews filed to trademark “Hell Hounds” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The filing is listed for advertising and entertainment services, specifically in professional wrestling.
This move came just two days after Brody King filed to trademark “Hounds of Hell.” Both trademarks suggest a possible rebranding or expansion of the group’s identity following Malakai Black’s departure from AEW.
Matthews is a former one-time AEW World Trios Champion and is best known as a member of the House of Black stable and his time with WWE, where he performed under the ring name Buddy Murphy.
