While Saraya remains away from in-ring action, she’s still keeping a close eye on AEW—particularly the standout work being done by AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm.

Saraya, who hasn’t appeared on AEW television since October 2024, last picked up a win over Nyla Rose on an August episode of AEW Rampage. Despite her absence, she’s continued to stay engaged with the product, and in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, she had high praise for Storm’s evolution as a performer.

“She’s one of the best promos and characters, I think, of all time,” Saraya said. “And she’s one of my favorites all together right now. She is making wrestling fun and exciting and I love that. And it’s just funny seeing her from two years ago… when she was scared to pick up a microphone.”

Saraya highlighted how Storm’s confidence and creativity have taken her to the next level, crediting her full commitment to the character as the key to her success:

“Once you have a character and something that you’re enjoying in wrestling, you wanna put a hundred percent of your mind, body, and soul into it. And she’s doing it. And she’s so humble about it and I love that for her. She’s just like, ‘I hope I’m doing a good job.’ I’m like, ‘Babe, you are smashing it! You are the best thing in wrestling right now.’”

Toni Storm is set to defend her AEW Women’s World Championship next month against Megan Bayne at AEW Dynasty.
