WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS – FEBRUARY 7, 2025
“WWE Then. Now. Forever. Together.” airs to get things started as always. We shoot inside the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN., where Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett welcome us to the show. We see arrival shots of LA Knight, Charlotte Flair and others, and then shoot into a recap package of WWE Royal Rumble 2025.
Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes, Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga Kick Off This Week’s Show
Just like the post-Royal Rumble episode of WWE Raw, the post-Royal Rumble episode of WWE SmackDown officially kicks off with 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble winner “Main Event” Jey Uso in a sea of fans in the building. He makes his way into the crowd as his theme hits, and the “YEET!” party begins as he heads all the way down to the ring.
Uso gets on the mic and says he’s had one hell of a week and he’s gotten lots of love too. He says his he’s now got to pick a champion, and he went to RAW so now he’s here at SmackDown to do the same. He asks Cody Rhodes to come out. Rhodes makes his way out to the ring. Both men hug in the ring, and Rhodes grabs a mic.
Rhodes says he knows what Uso wants to talk about – and Uso tells him he knows why he’s here and he has two choices to make. He can either stand across from him at Wrestlemania or he can stand next to you, with Rhodes and him being champions. Rhodes says his doctor told him he’s got a bunch of injuries from his ladder match but he left out the diagnosis of how full Rhodes’ heart is for Uso winning the Rumble.
Rhodes tells Uso that he knows this choice is Uso’s and they’ve had good moments in the ring, and if Uso chooses him he wants to make memories and have fun because it’ll be the last time because he plans on leaving Wrestlmania as champion. Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu make their way out to the ring.
Tonga gets on the mic and “yeah’s” a bunch of time and Fatu and tells Rhodes last year he took that title from his family and his family needs that title back. He turns his attention to Uso and tells Uso that he won’t be the one bringing the title back to the family. Uso superkicks Tonga and a brawl ensues. Fatu takes out Uso and beats down on Rhodes. Uso superkicks Fatu and Rhodes hits a Cody Cutter making Tonga and Fatu flee. We head to a break.
Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier
Piper Niven vs. Bianca Belair
When the show returns, Cody Rhodes & “Main Event” Jey Uso vs. Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga is announced for tag-team action later in the show. Back inside the arena, Piper Niven is finishing her ring entrance, in progress, with Chelsea Green by her side.
The familiar sounds of Bianca Belair’s entrance music hits and out comes “The EST of WWE” accompanied by Naomi. The bell sounds and off we go with our first match of the evening, which is the first of three scheduled Elimination Chamber qualifying matches scheduled for tonight’s show.
After some early offense from Belair, things start to get competitive. As Niven takes over and settles into a comfortable offensive lead after a big spot on the floor at ringside, the show heads into a mid-match commercial break.
When the show returns, we see Niven still controlling the action. Belair tries firing up for an offensive comeback, but Niven cuts it super short and remains in control of the match. Fans rally behind Belair with “EST! EST!” chants. Belair hoists the much larger Niven up and hits a picture-perfect K.O.D. for the win.
Winner and QUALIFYING for Women’s Elimination Chamber: Bianca Belair
Backstage With Nick Aldis, Carmelo Hayes & Akira Tozawa
Backstage, Nick Aldis is in his office when in comes Carmelo Hayes. He tells Hayes he spoke with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, who requested Hayes face a Raw Superstar tonight. Aldis says he has granted that request.
Hayes says after last week, he’s not interested. Akira Tozawa comes in. Hayes changes his mind. Aldis says Hayes cost Tozawa his spot in the Rumble and subsequently, his chance to main event WrestleMania.
It’s only fair he give him an opportunity at revenge tonight. Hayes now loves the idea and says it’s going to be a lay-up. As he walks off, Tozawa taunts him by yelling, “Air ball!”
#DIY vs. Pretty Deadly
WWE Tag-Team Champions #DIY come to the ring as we head into another commercial break. When the show returns, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are settled into the ring in their street clothes with microphones in-hand.
The champs discuss their lives after retaining their titles at The Royal Rumble. Gargano addresses Memphis and asks them to give it up for them and they’re boo’d. Gargano says they’ve been Motor City Machine Guns twice now and that this proves they’re the best tag team in the world.
Ciampa says the chances Motor City Machine Guns winning these titles again is dead and then say they respect MCMG and ask everyone to stand up and observe a moment of silence for MCMG. Pretty Deadly come out and remind DIY with all the help they’ve had to keep those titles.
Nick Aldis comes out and says DIY has no right to make demands and tells Pretty Deadly that they don’t deserve a title shot but if they can beat DIY they’ll get to challenge DIY for their titles and that match is next. We head to a pre-match commercial break.
When the show returns, the match is in progress with Ciampa taking it to Prince. He has him in a body lock and Prince is slammed in the corner. Gargano is tagged in and Prince is able to dodge the double team and get DIY out of the ring.
Gargano is able to come in but Prince tags out to Wilson who takes down Gargano in the middle of the ring. Wilson also beats on Ciampa and the takes down Gargano. Ciampa is taken down with a clothesline and Prince is tagged. Pretty Deadly attack DIY and hit spring board codebreaker on Gargano for a two count.
Ciampa slams Wilson against the ring post and in the ring Ciampa and Prince trade punches. Ciampa kicks and punches Prince and Wilson kicks Ciampa who is rolled up and Pretty Deadly get the win. After the match, the show heads into another commercial break.
Winners: Pretty Deadly
Men’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier
Drew McIntyre vs. Jimmy Uso vs. LA Knight
When the show returns, The Miz talks to Andrade backstage and says he can learn so much from him. Andrade says he did, he learned how to beat him and walks away. Cody Rhodes comes by and The Miz tells Rhodes he will always have his back.
Rhodes says he doesn’t need The Miz to have his back. The Miz says he knows what this title does to friendships and if Uso chooses him, will Rhodes still be his friend? For Uso to challenge Rhodes would be a great story for Uso, kind of like how last year it was Rhodes’ great story.
Inside the FedEx Forum, the theme for Drew McIntyre hits and “The Scottish Psychopath” makes his way to the ring in black and blue leather. He talks about being traded from the Raw brand to the blue brand of SmackDown, taking shots at the red brand and Adam Pearce in the process.
He then makes it clear he’s here on SmackDown because he’s got his sights set on “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes. He is cut off by the theme for Jimmy Uso, who tells McIntyre he is sounding like a jealous ex-girlfriend these days. Drew says he’s a different man and isn’t upset with Jey’s comments.
“Whoops, Jimmy. Years now I still can’t tell you apart.” He says they are so similar except Jey said “YEET!” first. Jimmy says he can say “YEET!” if he wants. He can say “NO YEET!” if he wants. He’s Big Jim and he’s here to get his. As they continue to talk, LA Knight’s theme hits and the crowd erupts.
“The Mega Star” makes his way out with a microphone in-hand. He says he’s gonna get right to this. He says he doesn’t have any love for Big Jim. He’s the main reason he didn’t become WWE Champion a little over a year ago. He looks into the camera and says he wants to be someone who affects change before he dies.
Knight says he means this from the bottom of his heart. If something hits you in the heart and in the feels and you cry, go ahead and let it out. “But with that said, there is a line where that becomes too much. There are three guarantees in this life: Death, Taxes and Drew McIntyre crying like a baby.”
He says all Drew does is cry. “Hell, I think I even heard someone over here call him Drew McIn-cryer. Oh wait, I forgot to get my stuff in. Memphis, tell’m whose game this is ..L-A Knight — YEAH!” We head to a quick pre-match commercial break as Knight glares at McIntyre, who has a big grin on his face.
When we return from the break, we see the match in progress. Quickly we see McIntyre and Knight get into an awkward physical encounter, where neither are selling for the other. Like a worked-shoot style MMA scramble-looking situation.
On the floor, Knight takes over and blasts Uso and McIntyre’s heads into the commentary desk as fans chant “YEAH!” with each shot. He poses to the crowd as Tessitore questions who is going to make it to Toronto. On that note, the show heads into a mid-match commercial break.
As the show returns, we see a superplex spot in the corner turn into a stacked situation, as McIntyre does a sit-up while hanging off the middle rope and does a German suplex as the other two were in mid-superplex motion. The crowd exploded with chants. Knight hits a leaping elbow off the ropes for a cover on Drew, which Jimmy breaks up.
McIntyre hits Knight with a Claymore Kick as he was in the middle of doing a BFT to Uso moments later. He follows up with the immediate cover for the pinfall victory. With the win, Drew McIntyre joins CM Punk and John Cena as three of the six participants scheduled for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match.
Winner and QUALIFYING for Men’s Elimination Chamber: Drew McIntyre
Kevin Owens Addresses Package Piledriver Attack Of Sami Zayn
Damian Priest is backstage joking about how Drew McIntyre would’ve rushed to the internet to complain had he come up short in the Men’s Chamber qualifier moments ago. Braun Strowman walks up and the two have words about another Men’s Elimination Chamber qualifier.
Tessitore talks us through slow-motion footage of Kevin Owens hitting his longtime best friend Sami Zayn with a dangerous package piledriver on this week’s WWE Raw. Afterwards, he says we’ll hear from Owens when we return. We head to another commercial break.
When the show returns, we shoot to extended footage of the end of Monday’s Raw and the aforementioned attack from Owens to Zayn. Owens is shown talking into a camera while sitting in his car, as usual. He talks about Sami being a bad friend because he ran to help Roman Reigns in the past, but stood by and did nothing as Cody tried to kill him at Royal Rumble. He says he’ll never forgive him for that, but he is going to make him pay.
Akira Tozawa vs. Carmelo Hayes
The footage of Carmelo Hayes attacking Akira Tozawa for mocking him for being eliminated in the Men’s Royal Rumble match airs. It gives WWE another excuse to air the footage of iShowSpeed being put in as a replacement and speared by Bron Breakker in the most-viewed Rumble social segment of all-time, with over 300 million views.
Tozawa’s theme hits and out comes the well-liked Raw Superstar and Alpha Academy member. The theme for Carmelo Hayes hits and the former NXT Champion comes out with a microphone in-hand. He cuts a heel promo as he nears the ring, and then Tozawa gets the early jump on him for a big pop.
Back in the ring, Hayes takes over as the bell sounds to officially get this one off-and-running. Tozawa fights back as the action spills right back out to the ringside area. On that note, the show heads into a mid-match commercial break. The show return and although he struggles a lot, Hayes hits Nothing But Net for the win.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes
Charlotte Flair Confronted By Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax & Alexa Bliss
As the show returns, WWE Hall of Fame legend and Memphis’ own Jerry “The King” Lawler is shown in a cameo appearance in the crowd.
Backstage, R-Truth approaches Jey Uso and congratulates him on becoming King of the Ring. Uso points out it’s the Royal Rumble that he actually won. Cody Rhodes approaches Jey, who tells him he might want to challenge him, but he’s also got issues with the other champion in WWE, GUNTHER.
Back inside the arena, the winner of the Women’s Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair, makes her way out and heads to the ring. She asks if Memphis loves her or hates her tonight. It’s a mixed bag reaction. She talks about winning the Rumble and returning to reclaim her throne and title.
Tiffany Stratton’s theme hits and out comes the reigning WWE Women’s Champion. She talks about how she’s been compared to Flair, and nobody is a bigger fan of hers than she, but at her first WrestleMania, she’s gonna beat her. Charlotte says if she wants her to choose her, she needs to get on her knees and beg.
Instead of that, Nia Jax’s theme hits and out she comes with WWE Speed Women’s Champion Candice LeRae, whose title is literally never acknowledged on television. Anyways, Jax informs Stratton that she’s got a match against her next week.
Women’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier
Alexa Bliss vs. Candice LeRae
Alexa Bliss’ theme hits and out she comes with Lilly to a big pop while Charlotte, Stratton, LeRae and Jax are still in the ring. We see reactions from them and then Tessitore and Barrett mention Bliss vs. LeRae in a Women’s Elimination Chamber qualifier when we return.
On that note, the show heads into a quick pre-match commercial break. When the show returns, the match is in progress. Bliss is doing well for the first minute or so coming back from the commercials, but then LeRae shifts the momentum into her favor on the floor.
From there, the show heads into a mid-match commercial break as this high stakes Women’s Chamber qualifier continues. When we return, LeRae is taunting Bliss and telling her nobody wants her here. Bliss starts taking over and playing mind games.
She rolls around the ring in a pin roll-up forever, before popping up and hitting Sister Abigail for the win. With the victory, Bliss qualifies for the Women’s Elimination Chamber match, joining Bianca Belair and Liv Morgan. Three more spots remain.
Winner and QUALIFYING for Women’s Elimination Chamber: Alexa Bliss
Cody Rhodes & “Main Event” Jey Uso vs. Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga
It’s main event time!
But first, we see Chelsea Green being interviewed backstage with Piper Niven by her side. Byron Saxton mentions she has a Women’s Elimination Chamber qualifier next week against Naomi. B-Fab and Michin walk up and they all have words. When they leave, Green yells at Niven and says they need more security.
Tessitore and Barrett plug Cody Rhodes and “Main Event” Jey Uso vs. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga as the main event, which is coming up next. On that note, we head into another commercial break.
When the show returns, we see Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley talking with Byron Saxton. Shelley says they’ve processed everything that’s been going and tell The Profits they cost them the match. Los Garza comes up and MCMG tells them they didn’t show up when required.
Santos Escobar and Elektra Lopez come by and Santos says if they’re looking for a fight, they got it. From there, we shift gears and head back inside the FedEx Forum, where Tessitore and Barrett begin running down the lineup for next week’s SmackDown.
Cody Rhodes and “Main Event” Jey Uso make their crowd-friendly ring entrances, as do their opponents for tonight’s main event, Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga. The bell sounds and off we go with our final match of the evening here on the post-Royal Rumble blue brand program.
Rhodes and Tonga start things off for their respective teams. Rhodes kicks Tonga and attempts a suplex. Fatu is tagged in and Rhodes goes on the attack and tries for a Cody Cutter but Fatu starts with punches and gets Rhodes on the mat.
On that note, the show heads into a mid-match commercial break as the action continues with the heel duo in the offensive lead. Rhodes and Uso begin fighting back. Rhodes hits a beautiful Cody Cutter off the ropes. On the floor, chaos ensues, and culminates with Cody hitting Cross-Rhodes in the ring for the win.
Winners: Cody Rhodes & “Main Event” Jey Uso
Solo Sikoa Returns With A Vengeance
After the match, a man in a hoodie hits the ring and lays Cody out as he is celebrating the win. He pulls the hoodie off to reveal he is Solo Sikoa. As Sikoa stares down at a laid out Cody, Tessitore reacts big on commentary and the show abruptly goes off the air on that note. Thanks for joining us!
