While fans continue to speculate about a potential final match between CM Punk and John Cena, the two could also share the spotlight on the big screen.

CM Punk has appeared in several films, while Cena has enjoyed tremendous success in Hollywood. Cena is set to star in the upcoming horror movie Night Patrol and the Syfy series Revival. Represented by Paradigm Talent Agency, which also manages several WWE stars, Cena’s career in acting continues to thrive.

Dave Bautista, a fellow WWE alum, previously praised Punk’s potential in Hollywood, stating he has “pretty unlimited” potential. During an interview with Collider, Cena was asked which WWE wrestler he’d most like to collaborate with in an action-comedy film. His answer? CM Punk.

“I think the viewing public probably would get a kick out of… Usually, in the action-comedy space, it’s kind of oil and water, or two comedy styles that combat each other, and I don’t want to say ‘combat,’ but I think people would dig me and CM Punk together.”

While the possibility of a cinematic collaboration remains open, Cena and Punk will share the ring once again in two weeks when they compete alongside 28 other stars in this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match.
