The Royal Rumble is one of the highlights of the year on the WWE calendar, with the men’s and women’s matches providing great entertainment, as 30 wrestlers in each division bid to win the unique contest.
Here is a look at some of the best records from the men’s Royal Rumble.
Stone Cold Steve Austin Holds the Most Wins
Stone Cold Steve Austin is the only wrestler in history to have won three Royal Rumble matches. John Cena is 10/3 in the betting on sports to match that record should he appear in the latest men’s contest in 2025.
Sports bettors will be using the acca calculator to put together selections at major events in early 2025, including the Royal Rumble on John Cena matching the record for the most wins. For example, with four icons such as John Cena (Royal Rumble), Tiger Woods (US Masters), Novak Djokovic (Australia Open) and Ronnie O’Sullivan (World Snooker Championship), the calculator suggests a £1 accumulator could pay as high as £11,817.
Kane The Master of Eliminations
With 46 eliminations, Kane was a master at throwing his rivals over the top rope. Given his excellent record, it is a huge surprise he did not win the event during his career.
Kane’s best Royal Rumble performance came in 2001. He eliminated 11 of his 29 rivals in the match. That was a Royal Rumble record until Roman Reigns was responsible for 12 eliminations in 2014. Since then, both Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar have each eliminated 13 opponents in one match.
Position 30 The Most Successful Entry
Given it is the last person to enter the ring, number 30 is the most successful entry in the men’s Royal Rumble. There have been five winners from the position, including in 2022 and 2023 when Lesnar and Cody Rhodes prevailed respectively.
Only three men have prevailed after being the opening wrestler in the ring. Shawn Michaels was the first to do it in 1995. Chris Benoit repeated that impressive feat in 2004, while Edge added his name to the history books in 2021. The longest time spent in a match was recorded by Daniel Bryan in 2018 (Greatest Royal Rumble).
Chris Jericho Has Longest Cumulative Time
After spending four hours, 59 minutes and 33 seconds in Royal Rumble matches, Chris Jericho holds the record for the longest cumulative time. If the former WWE champion returns to the brand one day, he is likely to extend his record to over five hours.
Randy Orton (4:34:08), Rey Mysterio (4:14:45), Rhodes (4:05:14) and Triple H (4:00:50) are the other four wrestlers to accumulate over four hours in Royal Rumble matches.
Santino Marella Suffered the Quickest Elimination

One of the funniest moments in Royal Rumble history came in 2009 when Santina Marella lasted just 1.9 seconds in the match. He arrived with his usual playing up the crowd, and as soon as he entered the ring, he was clotheslined over the top rope by Kane.
Hopefully, there will be iconic moments and records broken at the Royal Rumble in 2025.
