TNA is reportedly set to bring back a former star for a major storyline, rekindling ties with Tessa Blanchard after her controversial departure from the promotion.
Blanchard, who became the first woman to hold the Impact World Heavyweight Championship during the pandemic, parted ways with the company after a falling-out that led to her being stripped of the title. Following her TNA exit, she had a stint in WOW – Women of Wrestling but also left that promotion under contentious circumstances.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer, the belief is that Blanchard has signed with TNA, which reportedly explains her recent absence from CMLL. Blanchard and Lluvia are the reigning CMLL Women’s Tag Team Champions, but her signing signals a shift in her focus back to TNA.
Meltzer wrote, “The belief is that she’ll debut in Atlanta, do a quick program with Jordynne Grace, with Grace then leaving for WWE when her current contract expires. At least that’s the talking point going around. But I was told Blanchard having signed is confirmed.”
TNA runs Final Resolution tonight and will hold TV tapings on Saturday in Atlanta, where fans are anticipating Blanchard’s return and the potential start of her feud with Grace. This development could mark a significant moment for both stars and the promotion.
