WWE SURVIVOR SERIES: WARGAMES RESULTS – NOVEMBER 30, 2024
“WWE Then. Now. Forever. Together.” gets us started as always. We then hear Michael Cole welcome us to Countdown to WWE Survivor Series: WarGames from Vancouver, BC, Canada. He is joined by Big E. and Wade Barrett on the pre-show panel.
The three talk through live shots of the WarGames teams arriving, where Rhea Ripley is shown without a face protective mask on for the first time in a while. CM Punk is also shown arriving to the building for his first-ever WarGames match.
A lengthy WarGames history video package airs with homage being paid to Dusty Rhodes for inventing the match concept many moons ago. After the package wraps up, Cathy Kelley, Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg each check in from various parts of Rogers Arena.
GUNTHER is shown with Ludwig Kaiser for a live backstage interview, where “The Ring General’s” title defense against Damian Priest is profiled, and Kaiser’s WWE Intercontinental Championship opportunity against Bron Breakker and Sheamus is shown. Sheamus is shown backstage and asks if we’re ready for a banger. Redmond then interviews Breakker.
A cool mini-documentary feature airs on a fan in Vancouver who brings signs to every show he can get to from WWE in an effort to get a WrestleMania in Vancouver.
After it wraps up, he is interviewed at ringside live by Peter Rosenberg. We see another video package on The Rock’s Survivor Series debut and then Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg take over for Cole and Barrett on the pre-show panel.
Soon after, the pre-show wraps up and we shoot to Michael Cole and Corey Graves at ringside, who introduce the singing of the U.S. National Anthem and Canadian National Anthem. We then see the cold open video package to get the PLE portion of the show officially off-and-running.
Women’s WarGames
Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton & Candice LeRae vs. Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, IYO SKY & Bayley
The WarGames siren goes off and the massive cage is lowered over the double rings. The theme for Bianca Belair hits and out comes “The EST of WWE” first for her team. The rest of her teammates coming out, with Rhea Ripley last wearing a devil-style face protector mask.
The other team also make their respective ring walks and then it is decided that Bayley and Nia Jax will start things off inside the double rings enclosed by the massive WarGames cage. The bell sounds and Jax immediately jumps into an early offensive lead, as the five minute clock appears on the screen.
Vancouver fans start doing the sing-song-chants aimed at Bayley as she fights back into competitive form. Naomi comes out after the five minute clock expires, wearing a cheap paper birthday cone hat, complete with the stretchy cheap Halloween-mask string under her chin.
She enters the ring glowing in blue and beating on Nia with a kendo stick, moments after Nia had a belt she was using on Bayley. Fans chant “Happy birthday!” at Naomi as she and Bayley settle into a comfortable offensive lead over Nia. Moments later, Nia gets the kendo stick and lays both out to take back over.
Now Nia has a toilet seat and lid. Seriously. She puts it over the head of the birthday girl. Before she can do anything else, Bayley starts wearing out Nia with a kendo stick. Naomi joins in and blasts Nia with the toilet seat. Now Naomi puts the toilet seat over Nia’s head and gives her a Stink-Face.
The five-minute clock expires and the shark cage opens for Nia’s team. Tiffany Stratton wanted to come out, but Candice LeRae pushed past her and took the spot. LeRae heads to the ring and throws in some steel chairs and other weaponry to be used.
LeRae hits a big moonsault onto Naomi as she was laid out across two steel chairs. The clock winds down and out comes Bianca Belair for her team. She throws a fire extinguisher in the mix as the weaponry inside Women’s WarGames grows. If that weren’t enough, she brings a table into the mix as well.
The others make their way in, with Ripley and Morgan entering last for their respective teams. Morgan seemed to avoid coming to the ring when the shark cage opened for her. She went to the back and grabbed a baseball bat and then went to the ring. Ripley took her own devil’s mask face protector off and the two go at it.
The table is set up but not used yet. IYO SKY and Tiffany Stratton climb to the top of opposing cages. They each hit a moonsault at the same time, however SKY hit hers with a trash can over herself, blinding her while jumping. The crowd goes nuts.
Jax starts to dominate and tries for a pin, but only gets two. Naomi and Belair power bomb Nia through the table for a close two-count. Morgan breaks it up with her baseball bat. Ripley hits Morgan with Rip-Tide off the middle rope through the table moments later for the win.
Winners: Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, IYO SKY & Bayley
WWE United States Championship
LA Knight (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
The video package airs to set the stage for our next match of the evening, which is our first title tilt of the show. LA Knight defends his WWE United States Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. “The King of Strong Style” makes his way to the ring to his new theme music first.
The theme for LA Knight hits next and as “The Mega Star” emerges, the Vancouver crowd goes wild. The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one. Knight settles into the initial offensive lead, as fans loudly chant “Yeah!” with each shot of his that lands.
Nakamura rolls to the outside to buy himself a breather; Knight shuts that shit down with a swing kick. Both men brawl ringside, with Nakamura slamming Knight’s head into the barricade. Knight reverses an attempted head slam on the apron, and begins slamming Nakamura’s face repeatedly into the hardest side of the ring.
Knight takes the action back into the ring, where Nakamura begins to battle back. A huge back elbow drops the champ, and opens him up to a series of strikes from Nakamura. The challenger covers for a quick two. Nakamura pulls the champ up and batters him back into the corner with rising knee strikes. Nakamura with a strong gut strike that sends the champ rolling outside.
Knight checks his nose after that brutal back elbow earlier, making sure it’s not broken. Nakamura continues to pummel the champ on the mat until Knight uses a guillotine counter to gain some separation. Nakamura looks to strike but Knight hits a snap DDT for another two count. Knight whips Nakamura into the ropes and telegraphs a back drop.
Nakamura looks to counter but winds up eating a Torture Rack slam (more like a burning hammer but that’s what Cole said) from the champ for yet another two count. Moments later we work our way to the finish, which sees Nakamura hit his signature finisher for the win. We have a new WWE United States Champion.
Winner and NEW WWE United States Champion: Shinsuke Nakamura
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
Championship action is up in our next match of the evening, as Bron Breakker defends his WWE Intercontinental title in our third PLE match of the evening. After the video package telling the story leading up to this bout wraps up, we return inside Rogers Arena.
All three guys make their respective ring walks and then the bell sounds to get this one officially off-and-running. Kaiser avoids the fight early on. Breakker quickly dominates Sheamus, then uses a speedy rope-rebounding clothesline to take down Kaiser when he enters with a ring.
Kaiser enters the mix and takes control briefly. Loud boos from the crowd. Kaiser gets a chair and wedges it in the corner. He turns to find Sheamus and Bron again ready to gang up on him. Sheamus and Breakker beat on Kaiser, then whip him into the opposite corner.
Sheamus tries to whip Kaiser into the corner with the steel chair set up, but Kaiser slides on his knees and waves “no” as he barely avoids it. He rises, right into a killer clothesline from Breakker. Bron again turns to Sheamus and battles him to the outside. Breakker looks for a spear to Sheamus, who’s draped against the steel steps, but Kaiser intercepts him with a baseball slide.
Kaiser exits the ring and turns his attention to Sheamus, beating him at the ringside area until Breakker takes him down, flying from outta nowhere. Breakker begins to batter Sheamus on the commentary table as the crowd tries to rally behind the Celtic Warrior.
Sheamus throws hands but the champ bulls him over and drives him into the arena floor! Breakker sends Sheamus into the ring after screaming “this is what you get for p*ssing me off!” Breakker stomps Sheamus in the ring, then stalks him around. Sheamus tries to fight back, throwing arms, but Breakker shuts it down.
Breakker drives Sheamus into the canvas then pays homage to his uncle, Scott Steiner, by doing push-ups. Breakker taunts a kneeling Sheamus. Sheamus throws right after right into the champ’s gut. Sheamus with a big slam and covers, but Kaiser breaks it up before the count of three.
The Shalaleigh gets used a few times and Breakker hits a ten beats over the bowery. Breakker hits a Frankensteiner. Sheamus is busted open. Kaiser hits a rolling senton. Kaiser hits his finisher but walks into a huge spear from Breakker.
The dogs get barking in Vancouver and then Breakker takes out Sheamus, bad ribs and all, with another big spear for the win. With the win, Breakker is still your WWE Intercontinental Champion. Fun, hard-hitting contest from these three.
Winner and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Bron Breakker
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Gunther (c) vs. Damian Priest
It’s time for the co-main event of the evening, which features “The Ring General” Gunther defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest. Each man makes their ring walk and the bell sounds to get things started.
Priest locks the champ in an arm bar to jump into the early lead. Priest fights to his feet and they again attempt dueling arm drags. Priest again slaps an arm bar on the champ. Priest grabs the rope and the ref forces Priest, after a moment, to break the hold. Priest looks for a roundhouse but Gunther rolls to the outside and takes a six count, composing himself. Gunther enters the ring and the two go at it, with Priest yet again taking Gunther down.
Gunther rolls to the outside again, playing mind games with the challenger. Gunther enters the ring and both men circle. Gunther looks to pick the arm, but Priest slaps his wrist away. Priest with a series of kicks and a boxing punch to Gunther’s ear that drops the champ. Priest whips Gunther into the corner and charges in, only to eat the champ’s boot. Priest with a quick strike that drops Gunther.
Priest is favoring his shoulder, which Cole speculates was tweaked early on in the match. Gunther rushes in and kicks Priest’s injured shoulder. The challenger rolls outside, and Gunther purses. Gunther begins to punish Priest’s injured shoulder, focusing on attacks and whipping Priest shoulder-first into the barricade. Gunther sends Priest’s shoulder into the ring post then breaks the count. Priest and Gunther continue to battle ringside, with Gunther consistently taking shots at Priest’s shoulder to limit his striking ability.
Gunther takes it back inside and drops the challenger. Gunther gets a good pop as he stomps away at Priest. Gunther continues to pick and work over the left arm and shoulder of Priest. Gunther applies a hammerlock and Priest screams in pain. Gunther begins to use dropping knees on the challenger, softening the shoulder for another working hold. Gunther twists Priest’s injured arm and hits a stiff chop to the shoulder.
Gunther with another arm hold, driving Priest’s face into the mat and yanking on the arm. Gunther takes several long minutes, consistently working over Priest’s shoulder. Priest attempts to rally around 8:12pm, but his injured arm gives out as he attempts a Razor’s Edge. Gunther squirms free but Priest looks for a submission hold that gets the crowd on their feet.
Priest breaks the hold and looks for another Razor’s Edge, actually getting Gunther up. Gunther again escapes, then drives the challenger into the canvas with a powerful powerbomb for a close cover. Priest gets the shoulder up just in time and the crowd’s back into this fight. Gunther climbs up top but Priest rises, stopping his ascent with a big right hand. Priest with another right to rock the champ on the top turnbuckle.
Priest unloads with more rights and a left, then climbs the top rope. Priest hits a Hurricanrana off the top! Priest hoists up and hits the Razor’s Edge. He goes for the cover, but only gets two. Moments later, Priest hits the floor hard and awkward. The referee checks on him. He pushes him away and says give me a minute.
The ref heads back into the ring, and as he does, we see Finn Balor hit the scene from the crowd. He jumps off the barricade and connects with a Coup de Grace double-stomp. Gunther big boots Balor and brings Priest into the ring. He locks him in the sleeper hold and Priest is lifeless. The referee calls it. Gunther wins and retains.
Winner and STILL WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Gunther
Men’s WarGames
The OG Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn) & CM Punk vs. The New Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa) & Bronson Reed
It’s main event time!
The primetime introductions video that was released this morning airs and then the pre-match video package to tell the story on the road to Men’s WarGames between The OG Bloodline and The New Bloodline airs to set the stage for our final match of the evening.
Back inside the arena, the WarGames sirens blare and then The New Bloodline theme hits. Out comes Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Bronson Reed. Tama Tonga walks to the ring to kick things off for his team, while the rest of The New Bloodline are locked in their shark cage.
In a true sign of unity, The OG Bloodline gets separate entrances across the board. Sami Zayn comes out first to a huge pop. Jimmy Uso comes out next to somewhat of a non-reaction. Fans chant “YEET!” expecting “Main Event” Jey Uso next, but instead, CM Punk’s theme hits and “The Best in the World” comes out next.
Punk walks right up to The New Bloodline shark cage and pie-faces Bronson Reed. The New Bloodline try to reach through the shark cage to get back at Punk, but he stands there and taunts them. He kneels down, combs the imaginary sand and proclaims it is, in fact, clobbering time.
We get a decent delay and then the iconic sounds of Roman Reigns’ extended theme music hits as 17,828 fans inside Rogers Arena collectively throw up the 1’s. “The Original Tribal Chief” comes out, stands in front of The New Bloodline shark cage and throws his 1 up in the air right in front of them.
Reigns and Punk exchange uncomfortable stares as the four men stand together and get ready for the arrival of their fifth and final teammate. The four head inside The OG Bloodline shark cage and the door is locked shut. Now the “YEET!” chants get crazy loud.
The theme for “Main Event” Jey Uso hits and Vancouver goes absolutely ballistic as he makes his way out to start things off inside Men’s WarGames for The OG Bloodline team. Uso comes through the crowd among the rabid fans and heads to the ring.
After Jey and Tama mix it up for the first five minutes while a ton of various chants spread throughout the building, the countdown clock expires and out comes Bronson Reed to join The New Bloodline team, giving them the first 2-to-1 advantage.
The next clock expires and out comes Jimmy Uso to even things up at 2 and 2. The Usos showcase some of their old school tag-team work. They help The OG Bloodline pull into the offensive lead, and then the clock expires again. It looks like Tonga Loa is coming out, but Solo grabs his arm from behind and stops him. He waves on Jacob Fatu.
We hear the crowd go nuts as “The Samoan Werewolf” emerges from the shark cage and heads to the ring where Jimmy and Jey are waiting on him. Jacob Fatu takes them both out by himself and helps The New Bloodline shift back into the offensive lead.
Now the clock expires again and this time, we await to see who is coming out next for The OG Bloodline. CM Punk looks geared up and ready to go, but as he heads through the door, Roman Reigns grabs the bars and blocks him. He looks at Sami Zayn and nods his head.
Sami Zayn cautiously walks out and keeps looking back nervously at Punk and Reigns. Punk grills Reigns, staring a hole through him, as Reigns just looks straight forward. The crowd, meanwhile, goes nuts for Zayn, who they’ve been chanting for all match long with him in the shark cage anyways.
Zayn and Jey hit some trademark double-team offense from their days as a duo. They do their fancy Ucy-handshake for a big pop afterwards. The countdown clock expires and out comes Tonga Loa for The New Bloodline. This leaves only Solo for his team, and Punk and Reigns still remaining for The OG Bloodline.
Tonga brings two tables in the ring with him. After they dominate for a bit, The OG Bloodline gets another turn. Reigns gets ready to walk out, but Punk pushes past him and takes his turn instead. He heads to the ring and brings in a tool box with him. He uses it to beat down everyone.
The countdown clock appears again and when it expires this time, The New Bloodline get their final member, as Solo Sikoa emerges. He taunts Reigns and heads to the ring. He slams the cage door on member after member of the opposition and then brings in a chain and padlock.
All five members of The New Bloodline beat down every member of the opposition with ease, with Jacob Fatu and Bronson Reed shining in high spots moments. Solo then chains and locks the door and yells up to Reigns that he’s not getting in. The clock expires and Reigns emerges.
Reigns surveys the situation and then decides he’s only got one way in. “The Original Tribal Chief” begins climbing the cage and leaps off the top, splashing onto everyone in sight down below. Fans chant “OTC! OTC!” as now The Match Beyond begins, as it’s WarGames time with all ten members in.
Reigns helps all of his teammates up, except Punk. Punk and Reigns have an uncomfortable staredown. Paul Heyman makes his way down yelling from ringside. “The Wise Man” yells at them to get along. The bell sounds. “And now …let the WarGames begin!” says the ring announcer. The OG Bloodline and The New Bloodline are all standing.
The OG team is in one ring and The New team is in the other. They all collide and things get officially underway, as it’s now time to brawl to the finish. Reigns accidentally spears Punk a few moments later. Sikoa then blasts Reigns with a Samoan Spike for a close two-count.
Jacob Fatu misses a moonsault on Punk off the ropes and he begins grasping and clutching at his knee. Graves calls it a pivotal point in the match. Fatu gets up badly limping as a table is set up. Reigns comes to life and starts taking out everyone until he walks into a super kick from Reed.
He lays Reigns on the table and climbs all the way to the top of the cage. He leaps off with a Tsunami attempt but Punk pulls Reigns off the table just in time to save him. Reed goes through the table with authority. Reigns realizes Punk helped him and extends his hand to help Punk up.
As he gets up, however, Jacob Fatu runs over Reigns. Solo hits Punk with a Samoan Spike but The Usos hit a double super kick to avoid this one being finished off. The Usos hit the 1D on Fatu and then set up another table. Jimmy climbs to the top of the cage and leaps, putting Fatu through the table.
The OG Bloodline surround Solo, the only man from The New Bloodline still standing. Fans chant “You f**ked up!” at Solo. The Usos hit double super kicks. Zayn hits a Helluva Kick in the corner. Punk hits a GTS. Reigns hits his finisher and pins him for the win. Reigns theme plays as The OG Bloodline celebrate and hug while Punk watches on.
Winners: The OG Bloodline & CM Punk
