WWE’s business is doing well overall these days for a variety of reasons, including media rights and live event touring.
The company has never been more profitable, thanks to guaranteed big-money media rights deals with NBCU, the CW Network, and soon-to-be Netflix for its weekly television shows. They are also compensated well by Peacock for the streaming rights for PLEs and libraries, as well as license payments.
During a special Thanksgiving edition of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Rhodes discussed the state of WWE.
“We’re in this period of time where there was the Attitude Era, there was the Ruthless Aggression Era, and now we don’t even know what to call this era of WWE. I feel like we should call it the Record Era. We’re just breaking records left and right. The new management team, Triple H, Nick Khan, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. They made it so easy for me. I’ve been dubbed the quarterback because they call the plays. I just run the play, and hopefully, we all look good. It’s a blessed time. Thank all of you so much.”
Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on Peacock on December 14 at 8 p.m. ET from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, New York.
