It’s that time of year again! Yes, there was Thanksgiving, but there is also one of WWE’s oldest annual events and one of the four main PLEs.
WWE Survivor Series 2024:War Games will broadcast live from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on Saturday, November 30th. The PLE will stream live on Peacock, with the kick-off show at 4 p.m. EST and the main card at 6 p.m. EST.
War Games has been around for as long as the Survivor Series, and it has been a staple at the Survivor Series event since its introduction in 2022. There is typically a male and female War Games Match on the card.
In addition to the War Games matches, three WWE Championships will be on the line. Who will walk out victorious? Which teams will be standing tall? What storylines will develop, continue, and end out of this card?
Let’s examine the matches on the card and make my predictions for who will emerge victorious from the Rogers Arena in Canada.
Women’s WarGames Match: Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Iyo Sky & Bayley vs. Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton & Candice LeRae
This match is difficult to predict as it is a toss-up and can go either way.
I like Bayley’s addition to this team to replace an injured Jade Cargill. It makes sense when you consider Bayley lost her title to Nia Jax at Summerslam and has been involved in an on-and-off feud with her since. There’s also that trust factor. Can Belair truly trust Bayley, given their history? Can Bayley trust Iyo Sky?
However, the heels are nowhere near a united front either! They also have a past with each other and may find it hard to trust one another. We’ve recently seen Nia Jax face Liv Morgan at WWE’s last PLE, “Crown Jewel.” Also, do not forget that Tiffany Stratton is always lurking around with her MITB Briefcase, and there is tension between Jax, Stratton, and LeRae from Smackdown.
The real question in predicting this is which team is going to implode?! To me, the Heels have too many egos. Given that the Women’s Babyface teams have a history of winning War Games, I will go with this outcome.
Pick: Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Iyo Sky & Bayley defeat Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton & Candice LeRae
United States Championship Match: LA Knight (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
LA Knight’s championship reign has been lackluster up to this point, which is not entirely his fault. Most of his matches during this run have been thrown together without storylines! This match is another example of that.
An LA Knight loss here wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Knight needs a reset and to be repackaged as a heel. However, I don’t think WWE will go in that direction here.
The match will be decent, and in the end, I see Knight picking up the win here and retaining his championship.
Pick: LA Knight defeats Shinsuke Nakamura to retain his title.
Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat Match: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
Like the US Championship Match, this match feels like more of a filler to take up some time on the card. Given the superstars in this match, I have no issues with this. They should all deliver a solid performance here.
There has been some history between Breakker and Sheamus in the past few weeks leading up to this. While Kaiser is a wild card, seeing him get a bit of a push is nice.
I am a bit torn about who to pick here. Having a triple-threat match makes it intriguing. If WWE were to have Sheamus finally win the Intercontinental title, making him a Grand Slam Champion, they could do so by protecting Breakker and not having him get pinned.
Still, will the WWE shorten Breakker’s second title reign like the first one? It’s hard to see that happening here. For this reason, I see Bron winning this match.
Pick: Bron Breakker defeats Ludwig Kaiser and Sheamus to retain.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Gunther (c) vs. Damian Priest
I love that Damien Priest gets his rematch against Gunther. It’s important to note that Gunther hasn’t been at the top of his game since losing to Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel earlier this month.
He certainly has not seemed confident around Damian Priest either, which is good storytelling by the WWE. They are giving just enough hope to the fans that Priest can pull this off and take back his WWE Title.
For me, this match was the easiest to predict on the card. The story of Gunther being off his game and Priest being on top of his has been fun to watch. Ultimately, I do not see how Gunther will lose here. I see him regaining his confidence and showing everyone why he’s “The Ring General!”
Pick: Gunther defeats Damien Priest to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Men’s War Games Match: Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and CM Punk vs. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and “Big” Bronson Reed
The odds that the WWE will have two Babyface or Heel teams win the War Games matches are unlikely. So, I will either be completely right about both War Games Matches or completely wrong.
Given Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins’s history, I was surprised that Rollins wasn’t the fifth member of the OG Bloodline Team. I understand that having a star power like CM Punk will draw more fans and viewers to the event.
Something tells me that while not in the match or on the card, Seth Rollins will make his presence felt in this match, given that Reed and CM Punk are both in this match.
Like most fans, I would love to see the OG Bloodline win this contest. However, a few things make me have reservations about picking them to win.
First, the story works better and will eventually give a bigger payoff, with Babyface Reigns continuously chasing after Solo. If that were to happen, Reigns’ team would have to lose this match. The most likely scenario would be that he would be betrayed.
This begs the question: Can Reigns trust Sami Zayn, CM Punk, or even “The Wiseman” Paul Heyman, the members of his team who are not his true blood? I’m not so sure about that!
That’s what makes the Bloodline storyline so good and never dull! There are so many different things that can happen and ways WWE can continue the story.
It feels like a massive heel turn is coming, but who will turn? Zayn, Heyman, or even Punk can make a heel turn here, which would get an enormous reaction from the crowd.
I’m not saying a heel turn will happen here or that Reigns’ team can’t win. For long-term booking and more feuds to come out of this, having the New Bloodline win this match makes more sense.
Pick: New Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and “Big” Bronson Reed) defeat OG Bloodline (Reigns, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso and CM Punk).
