Jey Uso had a breakout year as a singles star in 2024, with numerous feuds with top talents, a challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and a massive singles battle against brother Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania 40.
He also won the Intercontinental title. However, one title still eludes him: the World Heavyweight Championship.
While speaking on Cheap Heat, Uso was questioned if winning his first singles title was important to him.
He said, “Yeah, man, it just puts a stamp on you. If you’re a wrestler, you want to hold a damn WWE Championship one time, a World Heavyweight Championship one time. I want to hold that s**t. I ain’t ever thought about being a champion like that until I got the IC Title man, until ‘24 popped off the way it did, it built my confidence. It made me believe, hell yeah, I could be the face, Uce.”
Regarding aspirations to be a World Champion one day, Uso also wants that gold.
Uso stated, “Yeah, I want the title. I’ll take it off of anybody, just give me the shot. Gunther, whoever it is, Cody Rhodes, we can run it. I’m telling you, I’m gonna get the big one. No one believes that, just like that doubted me the whole time. It’s all good. I’m used to that. It’s just fuel to the fire. But I’m gonna get that, I’m gonna get it. I’m putting it out there right now. “
